In the spirit of聽Tikkun Olam and to honor King鈥檚 legacy on MLK Day, join fellow TRS congregants for a day of community service. There will be plenty of family-friendly activities onsite, including:
bagging beans and rice for the local food bank,
making blankets and snack packs to support families through Northern Virginia Families Services (NVFS),
assembling hygiene kits for another local nonprofit,
and many more!
There will also be opportunities for smaller groups to volunteer offsite at the local food bank, to clean up and organize the NVFS Clock Tower Thrift shop or participate in a sing-along at Chesterbrook Senior Living Center.聽

Book Drive
Sun, Nov 24 – Mon, Jan 19 As part of Winter Mitzvah Day, we will be collecting new and gently used books for A Bundle of Books, a volunteer-led organization dedicated to providing free, high-quality books to children (newborns to high school) in DC, Maryland and Virginia. Books are distributed directly to local schools and organizations for children. Books should be in good condition, with no broken bindings or torn pages. for a sampling of books and for more information about the organization. Collections will begin on Sunday, November 24, and will continue until Winter Mitzvah Day on January 19. Please drop off your book donations in the bins next to the TRS Library.

Sun, Dec 1 – Mon, Jan 19 More than 105,000 people in Fairfax County experience hunger and food insecurity and the numbers keep rising. Consider donating canned goods to support , a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping low- and moderate-income neighbors and nearby communities overcome food, clothing and shelter insecurities. Please drop your donations off in one of our Mitzvah boxes in the sanctuary foyer or next to Central Park. Here are the suggested items for donation:

snacks (such as granola bars, crackers, dried fruit, and nuts)
